We had to leave the Gibb River Road and head directly north for this part of the journey. The road was very rough. We handled the trip into the Station ok but we found coming back out was quite difficult. We just could not find a happy speed to sit on.
If you are holding out to stock up on supplies, this may or may not be the place for you. There is a store here but when we were here there was not much available. Fortunately we were well stocked up. There is not a lot to do at the Drysdale campground itself, but it is a good location to explore from.
We saw a number of vans and vehicles on the back of trucks coming back from an attempt to get to Mitchell Falls. Message to oneself, if you are going that way, make sure you are prepared.
