It was only a short but very nice trip from Meena Creek to Cairns. The route takes you through countryside that is green and lush. Our intent was to stay in Cairns for the better part of a week and explore the city and region which we did. The city itself is nice, and we explored Palm Beach, Port Douglas and up into the rain forest via the Karanda scenic railway.

Port Douglas
While we were there we did the obligatory day trip to Port Douglas. We also called into Palm Beach on the way home which we both really liked.
Kuranda
Judy took a trip up the “mountain” on the scenic railway but unfortunately the cable car that comes down the mountain was closed, so Stephen and Bear went up the mountain by car and brought Judy back,
