From Yeppoon we continued north with Airlie Beach our next port of call. We had intended to free camp for a night on the way but in the end did the trip in a day. The good news was we found a place to stay; the bad news was we had not realized we were parked up alongside the runway of the local airport. We certainly knew when it was 6.30 am and planes stated taking off.
It was however a nice place to stay, and we were able to explore the wider area from here. In addition to Airlie Beach we explored Bowen, Dingo Beach and Hideaway Bay.
