The Daintree

Reaching Daintree Village was as far north as we planned to go. The plan is to travel to the “Tip” on a separate trip. It is a relatively short but very nice drive from Cairns to Daintree Village and we enjoyed it. We stayed at a Hip Camp at Daintree which was basic, but we had access to everything we needed, and it was a good spot to explore north across the river via the ferry to Cape Tribulation and south as far as Mossman Gorge.

Daintree Village

Heading North

We spent a day heading north travelling across the river and then north up to Cape Tribulation. This was quite an experience; the ferry, the road, the rain forest, discovery center and more. We would like to spend more time here, but not towing a big van.

Mossman Gorge

We also spent time exploring Mossman Gorge. It is a good set up; but a pity they did not spend a bit more to extend the made walking track. It is however worth the visit.
