Charleville

After leaving Charlotte Plains Station we stopped briefly at Cunnamulla before heading on to Charleville. We had been to Charleville before but only for the night so we decided to take the opportunity to stay a bit longer and do some exploring of the area.

Welcome to Cunnamulla

Cunnamulla is nice place to visit and if you are into Hot Springs, there are plenty of them around this area. If you are caravanning there is a Free Camp at the southern side of town. The photograph below is of the “Cunnamulla Fella” made famous by Slim Dusty.

There are lots of things to see in Charleville. The photographs below show some of what we found during our stay.

Line of Load Miners Memorial

The Memorial is a must do if you are in the area. Both the display and the views from the Memorial are worth taking in. There is a cafe there but unfortunately it was closed when called in. The photopgraph’s below show a little of this site.

Silverton

Visiting Silverton is a must do if you are in this area. The four main attractions are the Museum, Hotel, the Art Gallery and the Mad Max Museum. The Photographs below are taken from the Hotel precent.
