The Daintree Village was as far north as we had planned to go so it was now time to start heading south or if you like, head back home. After initially heading south we then turned right (southwest) to go inland not far out from Port Douglas. The road climbs up over the range (very steep and windy so hard work towing a big van), but we did not ave any issues. Our plan was to stop briefly at Mareeba before spending a night or two at Atherton. From here we could do the waterfall trail and visit Yungabrra, Malandra, Millaa Millaa, Ravenshoe and more.
Ravenshow apparently has the best pies around at the bakery but unfortunately we arrived a bit late and it was closed. I can tell you that the Cafe across the road from the bakery does NOT have the best pies around.
